Do AI agents keep your data private?

Whether an AI agent keeps your data private depends on the platform the agent runs on and what you connect to it — not on the marketplace listing it. On Buy My Agent your conversations happen on the agent's own platform (your ChatGPT or Claude account, or the creator's chosen platform), so the marketplace never sees them, and your email is never shared with a creator unless you choose to share it.

What to check before you connect anything

  • Where do your conversations run? On Buy My Agent they happen on the agent's platform, not on us.
  • What does the agent access? A trustworthy listing states exactly what it reads or connects to.
  • Is any access read-only or read-write? Reading your calendar is very different from sending on your behalf.
  • For sensitive data, start with the least access that works and expand only if you need to.

Autonomous agents deserve extra care

An autonomous agent that can act on your files, browser, or accounts has a wider blast radius than a chat-only one. Run it in an isolated environment, start with low-risk permissions, and review what it's allowed to do before handing it anything sensitive.

The marketplace's job is to make this legible: every listing is human-reviewed and declares how it's delivered and what it needs. Privacy still comes down to the platform and the permissions — so read them.

Frequently asked

Can a creator see my conversations?

No. Your chats happen on the agent's platform, not on Buy My Agent, so we never see them — and your email isn't shared with a creator unless you opt to share it.

Is my data used to train AI?

That depends on the underlying platform's policy, not the marketplace. Check the terms of the platform the agent runs on (e.g. your own ChatGPT or Claude account settings).
