How much do AI agents cost?
Most AI agents are sold as a monthly subscription, priced on the value they deliver — the time or money they save you each month — rather than a fixed rate. On Buy My Agent, listing is free for creators and the platform takes a 10% fee only on a sale, plus applicable tax where a sale is taxable; some agents are free, others charge a subscription, and a few are one-time purchases.
What drives the price
- The value of the problem it solves — an agent that saves hours a week is worth more than a novelty.
- Whether it's a subscription (ongoing value and maintenance) or a one-time purchase (a deliverable you keep).
- Whether there are extra costs — some agents run on your own API key or platform subscription, which a good listing discloses.
- Support and updates, which are part of what a recurring fee actually pays for.
Watch for hidden costs
The subscription price isn't always the whole cost. Some agents need you to bring your own ChatGPT/Claude plan or API key, and an honest listing states that in its extra-costs section rather than surprising you later.
As a buyer you're billed in CAD, you can cancel anytime, and you keep access through the period you paid for — the Refund & Cancellation Policy covers the details.
Frequently asked
Are there free AI agents?
Yes. Some listings are fully free, and some are free to start with paid upgrades (freemium). A paid product must be listed as paid — a 'free' listing has to be genuinely usable at no charge.
Does the marketplace add fees on top for buyers?
The listed price is what you pay, plus applicable tax shown as its own line at checkout. The platform's 10% fee comes out of the creator's side, not added onto yours.
