Give it: Your own documents, PDFs, web links, YouTube videos, or CSVs — up to 50 sources per notebook on the free plan. It does: Reads and indexes everything you upload (grounded on Gemini 3), then answers questions, summarizes, and generates study aids strictly from those sources — including audio "podcast-style" overviews, video overviews, mind maps, flashcards, quizzes, and reports. You receive: Cited, source-grounded answers plus optional audio/video overviews, mind maps, and study guides generated from your material. Next: Ask follow-up questions, share the notebook with collaborators (Plus tier and up), or export the generated study aids. It does not: Pull in outside knowledge beyond what you've uploaded (by design, to avoid hallucination), auto-update a source if the original webpage or video changes, or run offline — everything is processed on Google's servers.
Best for: Students, researchers, and anyone synthesizing a specific set of documents (course readings, research papers, meeting transcripts) who wants grounded, citable answers.
Not for: Confidential or highly sensitive material where you'd rather not have files processed on Google's servers, and continuously-updating live sources (it won't auto-refresh if a source page changes).
